Members connect their Roblox account to Jellyn once. Jellyn then sets their nickname and gives the verified role in every server that turns verification on.

Verification ties a member's Discord account to their Roblox account. Jellyn uses it everywhere: to know which staff member is which player in game, to count playtime, to log from in game, and to fill in nicknames.

For members

  1. Sign in with Roblox on Jellyn

On Jellyn, open Account settings and connect your Roblox account. Roblox asks you to sign in and approve; Jellyn only reads your Roblox name and ID, and your Roblox password never leaves Roblox.

  2. Get your role

In a server that turned verification on, your nickname and the verified role are updated within a few seconds. Or press Update me in the server's verification channel, or run /verify.

/verify also shows where you stand, and links you to Roblox sign-in if you haven't connected yet. You verify once: every server on Jellyn sees the same Roblox account.

Turning it on for your server

Verification is on the Discord page of the dashboard, under Verification.

SettingWhat it does
Verify membersTurns verification on. Nicknames and the role update within a few seconds of someone verifying, while the bot is online.
Verify automaticallyMembers who verify on Jellyn, or join already verified, get their nickname and role without pressing anything. Otherwise they press Update me or run /verify.
Verification channelWhere the verification message goes. Press Post the verification message to put it up.
NicknameTheir Roblox username, their Roblox display name, Display name (@username), or leave nicknames alone.
Verified roleThe role verified members get.

Jellyn can only give roles below its own, and Discord doesn't let bots change the server owner's nickname. Put Jellyn's role above the verified role in Server Settings → Roles.

With Jellyn+, the verification message can be your own, and you get more ways to protect it.
